Ooookay people...the season of good will is almost upon us...but just quite how this feeling translates in reality during the annual scrap for sprouts in Sainsburys is somewhat lost on me. As someone who is known for her love of all things glitz...Christmas should be a sparkly shoe in right? At this point I really wish I had access to the family fortune buzzer...because the sound it makes truly conveys the way I feel about all things 'Noel' these a manner which mere words alone can not convey.

GOWNS everywhere already know that Christmas is a tough negotiation in the new lives we were each handed on the demise of our spouses...

Ooookay people...I have been here in the dolls house for a month, a period of time which, seems no longer than the blink of an eye. To say the move, everything leading up to it and all that has followed it, was an epic negotiation would be like saying Donald Trump was to understate fact.

Kenny bless him, had extended our old home over the years and created lots of extra space which I then subsequently set about filling with stuff. I was particularly prolific during my frequent bouts of cash incontinence, an affliction which affects many of us GOWNS... as we seek out ways of filling the void created by the departure of...

Ooookay people ...the weather is not good today here in my neck of the woods... I am surrounded by cardboard boxes...some of them filled with the contents of my life thus far in contemplation of my imminent move to the dolls house...a number of them engineered for me by someone whose desire was to motivate me to fill them further, and who maybe disappointed... but possibly not surprised to learn therefore, that I chose to write about my Vegas trip instead. I was even more determined to do so, having lost the first version of this article into the depths of cyber space at the mere touch of a button.

I don't see this as an unproductive...

Ooookay people...Las I have already said is a place of contrasts all of which co-exist in a relatively confined space along the sunset strip.

During my time there the searing heat of the Nevada desert reached 117 degrees which prompted the state governors to issue an 'excessive heat' warning...and me to seek out increasing numbers of ways to avoid it momentarily.

Eureka! The perfect antidote to boiling point is freezing point right? Or even minus 5 below...which is the name of the bar I discovered nestling in a quiet corner of the Mandalay Bay hotel on the strip. The bar is made entirely of ice, even the seating is...

Ooookay people...I really had been hoping to update you on my Vegas adventure...which I do hope to do soon, but the last few days as I have travelled to Florida has seen my levels of resource tested to their outer limits, and I felt I just had to share this with you first. I survived methinks, thanks in no small part thanks to the GOWNS staple of using humour to deal with the not inconsiderable obstacles that present themselves...which on this epic journey they most certainly did.

I left home for Birmingham airport late on Sunday night...OK I didn't need to leave as early as I did for the Monday morning flight...but the M6 is...

Ooookay sparkly heels are now well and truly back in the UK...albeit not for long!! I am off to Florida on Monday so have just about enough time to wash my smalls (ok...maybe they are not that small...but you get my drift) before I head off again into the big blue yonder. However, first things first...Vegas.

This trip didn't get off to the greatest start...I mean sitting on the tarmac in a plane without functioning air con for a whole two hours before take off is an unwelcome blip for any traveller...but for someone with the concentration span of your average gnat this... in conjunction with ten hours spent actually air...

Ooookay people... the big day has finally arrived...Vegas here I come ready or not!

After much deliberation, phoning of friends... not to mention a few tears as I broke the news to several pairs of my sparkly heels, that they had not made the cut, and were no longer destined to make their twinkly debut beneath the famous neon lighting on the sunset strip, as previously promised.

More tough decisions were made when finally the moment arrived for me to close my beautiful citric suitcase... Ok some force was applied, but the mission was accomplished with a very healthy thirty seconds to spare before the taxi arrived, though I do think...
